School is a place to acquire knowledge, experience the wider social environment, and learn to be a member of the community. Primary school (SD) is an early stage of education with a period of 6 years to acquire science. In Pagerwangi Village, Lembang Prefecture, West Bandung District, there is a State Department of Pagervangi 2 located on Sukanagara Road No.58. SDN 2 Pagerwangi has two buildings with 12 classrooms for students to study. The learning process at SDN2 Pagervangi starts from the morning class at 07.00 am until noon class at 12.00 pm. The school is located on the edge of the main road of the Village, so it is easy to access and the school atmosphere is very natural.

From March 2023 to June 2023, a group of students from the Educational Studies Program of Sociology of the University of Education of Indonesia implemented a project involving students of SDN 2 Pagerwangi. The activity focuses on providing socialization about garbage disposal, garbagemanagement, and environmental protection. This activity is based on the main program of a student group in an effort to solve the problem of garbage in Pagerwangi Village. The purpose of students carrying out this activity in SDN 2 Pagerwangi is to instill awareness of the importance of the environment to the children in the Village Pagervangi and remind them of how important it is to preserve the beauty and comfort of the surroundings.

This activity begins with socialization about garbage disposal. This activity involves fourth and fifth-grade students who are engaged in navigation activities, so socialization is carried out during the navigation activity hours. The socialization will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023, starting at 9:30 a.m. at SDN 2 Pagerwangi. The event began with the opening, where a group of students of Sociology Education introduced themselves. Then, material about garbage and various kinds of garbages were delivered. In order to preserve grace, there were also some light games. Students were asked to look for garbage according to its type, both organic and inorganic.
