One of the profiles of graduates of the Sociology Education study program is a community empowerment worker. Rural and Urban Sociology want to hold the courses that carry the CPL profile of the graduate. Based on this, on Saturday, 9 April 2022, at 13.00-15.00 WIB, a public lecture was held with the theme "Know More about The Role of Community Assistants." This public lecture is in collaboration with alumni and material provider Sarah Dwi Julianti, alumni of Sociology Education in 2011. Currently, Sarah works as a PKH community assistant in the assisted area of Sukamanah Village, Malangbong District, Garut Regency.

On that occasion, Sarah shared her exciting experience as a community assistant and the joys and sorrows she experienced. She explained the duties and roles of community facilitators, especially PKH facilitators who had to accompany 220 KPM (Beneficiary Families). According to Sarah, the most formidable challenge to becoming a PKH assistant is using scientific language, which must be conveyed in a more straightforward language so that the assisted community can better understand it.

This event was enthusiastically welcomed by students of the 2020 and 2021 batches. In addition to getting direct information from field practitioners, students also understand the potential of other professions that they can do when they graduate. In addition, through this activity, students try to apply the knowledge about rural and urban sociology that they have received in lectures to empirical experiences by asking the presenters how the influence of village topography in mentoring activities. This public lecture is a provision for students to do field practice as an asynchronous activity that students must carry out.
